Get Ready to Go Deep with the New Poseidon from Reactor

“Our new Poseidon has a number of firsts for us in terms of technology. In addition to the extreme 1000M depth rating, the watch features an internal rotating bezel that can actually be adjusted underwater, and meets or exceeds the ISO 6425 Professional Dive Watch standard,” says Jimmy Olmes, president of Reactor.

Reactor’s most seaworthy model to date is built on a 48mm case forged from solid stainless steel. The internal and external rotating bezels give divers the ability to time different aspects of a dive, such as bottom time and a safety stop. The 17mm thickness is evidence of Poseidon’s robust build, as both crystal and caseback are substantially thickened to withstand the nearly 1500psi of pressure required to give the watch a 1000M depth rating.  The watch will be available with a black and red dial with rubber strap, a yellow and black dial with 2-tone IP black stainless bracelet, or a limited edition black and orange combination that will include both bands (see sidebar). The stainless bracelets include a wetsuit expander, another first for Reactor.

The watches will begin shipping by the end of August, 2010. Check back here for more details soon.
